What are the dos & don'ts of living and doing business in abroad? What
do you have to consider about the foreign labour market that you may not
have anticipated? GMS’s cross-cultural introduction will help you
learn everything from the language, to food, to business etiquette. Since everyone’s needs are
different, we offer this program with four backgrounds in mind:
Basic
You want to quickly grasp the
rhythm of everyday life and this is the introduction for you. Perhaps you
will only be relocating for a short time. This is a bare-bones quick
introduction that includes: basic social vocabulary, common customs and
basic business etiquette and an introduction to your new city (where to shop, eat and
socialize).
Standard
You are probably going to be
relocating for 1+ year(s) and may be with a spouse. In addition to the basic package, this
includes: basic social vocabulary, common customs and basic business
etiquette and an introduction to your new
city (where to shop, eat and socialize), your
spouse can join in on the introduction. After the initial introduction
(half-day), we will meet for a 2-hour “check-up” to make sure
your transition is going smoothly and help fill in any blanks.
Executive
This introduction is meant
for middle managers with or without their family. You are probably
relocating for 1, 2 or even more years!
This introduction combines a cultural introduction with language
training/coaching for the duration of your stay. After a 1-day introduction
seminar, you will also begin weekly coaching/language training. You will:
learn social & business vocabulary, business etiquette, be introduced
to your new city
and receive weekly support and feedback. Within this package, you have the
option of training the language, social and cultural sections with your
family or separately.
